Ekolution, a leading player in sustainable building materials, is proud to announce the delivery of hemp fibre insulation to the Logistics Centre in Bålsta. This delivery marks an important step in our collaboration to promote bio-based building solutions and reduce climate impact in the real estate sector.
Logicenters, which is known for its modern and sustainable logistics properties, has chosen Ekolution's hemp fiber insulation for its construction project in Bålsta. Hemp fiber insulation is a bio-based material with low climate impact and is energy efficient.
Ekolution is very pleased with the cooperation with Logicenters and the delivery of our hemp fiber insulation to their plant in Bålsta. This delivery is a testament to our commitment to providing sustainable and innovative building materials that are not only good for the environment but also for property owners and tenants. We would also like to thank Svenska Takelement for the excellent cooperation on the prefabricated modules for the ceilings and walls, Martinssons who supplied the frame and all the others involved in the project.
Eva Sterner, development manager at Logicenters, describes why hemp fiber insulation was chosen for the project, “Hemp is an exciting and proven material that grows quickly and requires little energy in manufacturing. It also adds nutrition to the soil, which is good for agriculture. We have collaborated with a Swedish start-up company, EKOLUTION, which produces hemp fiber insulation. This supports local agriculture and contributes to the sustainability of the project.”
“We are incredibly proud of the transformation we are making together in this project in bio-based construction and show the world that together we can influence and collaborate in the green transition” says Remi Loren, CEO of Ekolution.
Hemp fiber insulation is made from industrial hemp, a rapidly growing and renewable resource. It is biodegradable, has excellent thermal and acoustic properties, and contributes to healthier indoor environments. By using hemp fiber insulation, buildings can reduce their energy consumption and carbon emissions, which is in line with the global Sustainable Development Goals.
Our concept creates an opportunity for Swedish real estate companies to further develop and streamline their sustainability work with the aim of climate neutrality and in the long term also become climate positive.
Logicenter's new facility in Bålsta was completed in spring 2024 and sets a new standard for sustainability in logistics properties. Ekolution looks forward to continuing this successful collaboration and contributing to more sustainable construction projects in the future.
